IPL Rate Increase Hearing
IPL wants to raise your rates for the 2nd time in 2 years.
There's a public hearing being held so you can speak out. If you can't come to the hearing, no big deal-- there's info below on how to submit your comments via email, phone, USPS or the web.
First thing's first, you'll want to get the facts on this IPL rate case. Click here:
http://www.citact.org/utility-rates-and-regulation-issues-utility-ipl/campaign/ipl-wants-25-increase-base-rates-tell-them
Once you review the facts, take a look at how you can tell the decisionmakers that IPL doesn't deserve a rate increase:
https://www.in.gov/oucc/2889.htm
Many people don't think their voice counts but we're here to tell you that the most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any. This rate increase especially affects the poor and low-income.
IPL wants to iIncrease the monthly fixed charge on most customers to $27 per month, a 59% increase. This would give IPL the highest monthly fixed charge of any investorowned utility in Indiana, by far.
Tell them no.
And don't hesitate to post a message or inbox us if you have questions.

Environmentally Responsible Investing Workshop
Environmentally responsible ways to invest endowment funds and other pools of money is a topic of frequent debate in many organizations including congregations. These discussions are often fueled by media coverage or by single issue advocates but do not apply a more systematic approach using key environmental and creation care principles. This workshop addresses directly the important role congregational investment leaders can play in developing key principles, assessing responsible investment choices, assuring financial performance and communicating the principles, practices, and results to the congregation and community. The workshop is also targeted for individuals within congregations that perceive the benefit to this approach as well.
Recommended Participants: Congregation at large, congregational members involved with green teams, social action committees, finance and budget committees, boards of directors, trustees and individuals.
Our presenter is Julie Singer, a financial advisor from Singer Wealth Advisory of Raymond James. She specializes in socially and environmentally responsible investing.
