Our Future Beyond Coal Event-Muncie

Reducing energy bills by 75 percent? Using the wind to power a school? On Saturday, May 21, you can find out how it's done.

Today, about half of our electricity in Muncie is being generated at the AEP-Rockport coal plant, the sixth largest carbon polluter in the nation. Less than eight percent of our power comes from renewable energy.

Join us on May 21 to learn how we can harness the power of renewable energy and go beyond coal in Muncie to bring in more jobs, more money for the community, and keep energy affordable for all.

Speakers include: Bibi Bahrami, President, AWAKEN, Inc.; Ryan Snoddy, Superintendent, Northwestern School Corporation, Kokomo; Jeff Robinson, Director of Community Relations, and Rob Jordan, Building Superintendent, Cornerstone Center for the Arts; Joe Stevens, Regional Sales Manager, National Energy Control;  and the Muncie Beyond Coal Campaign.

Along with hearing from speakers, you'll have a chance to look at the 420-panel solar array on the roof of the Cornerstone Center for the Arts, and to engage in small-group conversations about moving beyond coal.
